Numerology is another well respected philosophical science like astrology, that dates back hundreds to thousands of years.
Compared to the twelve zodiac signs , numerology has its 1-9 digits and three master numbers 11,22, and 33 with their own individual meaning. And like the natal charts twelve houses, numerology has its own areas of application like the life path number, expression number, personality number, soul urge number and birth day number.
But like any philosophical explanation, it gets more complex the deeper you dig. In astrology, we see zodiacs everywhere, the age of Aquarius, the season of Virgo etc. And we apply numerology the same way.
For example, your western superstition may lead you astray from the series 666 in any scenario. Whereas the Chinese will stray from the number 4 for the same reason.
Like astrology, numerology is applied in every aspect of life if you allow it to. You may notice 11:11 on the clock and think, “make a wish!” You may see 12:34 and it may mean something else to you. Kind of like the universal 420.
Numbers have meaning, and you have always known this if you haven’t studied numerology before.
For me, the number 8 was my favorite number when I was a kid. I just liked it. But as the years passed, I quickly noticed that I kept seeing the number 5 wherever I went. 5th place, 5th row, 5 flowers, 5 bees, 5 this that and the other.
I was born in may, the fifth month. My first, middle, and last name are each 5 letters long unintended. Places I would live would add up to 5, like 401 (4+0+1) or 32 (3+2). I named my dog a five letter name unintentionally I mean the list is uncanny.
So I declared 5 as my lucky and favorite number. When I looked into numerology, low and behold, my life path number is 5. It sent shivers down my spine.
Numerology is one of the easiest ways to tap into the language of the universe. So because the number 5 is so drawn to me even if it wasn’t my life path number, I base important decisions on it.
House shopping. Does the address add up to 5? No. I put an offer on the house and got outbid.
Wedding day. Is the day 5 or add up to 5? No. Reschedule. I don’t want to get divorced honey.
Kids. I’m trying for 5. Pray for me.
Once this can get a little ridic but you see where I’m going with this. You don’t have to be too anal about it but just a little soft reminder in the back of your mind might help steer you in the right direction when you’re feeling lost.
So think of your life path as your sun sign. Yes this is you but there are many other aspects that make up you too. In numerology we have 5 which are but not limited to: life path, expression number, soul urge number, personality number and birth day number.
All of these are pretty easy to calculate but like any specialist, a numerologist would be better fit to personalize your numerology chart like an astrologer would a natal chart.
To get your life path number, you add your birth date. Let’s say you were born July 13, 1971. You would add 0+7 to 1+3 to 1+9+7+1 and get 11 because7+4+18=29 and 2+9=11 and 11 is a master number so we do not add 1+1.
Another example would be February 6, 2006. 02+06+2+0+0+6= 2+6+8=16 and 1+6=7. So 7 is that persons life number.
To get your expression number, you add your first, middle and last name. However, we use the Pythagorean alphabet to find this. So each letter has its own number as follows:
Once you add your first+middle+last you will get the expression number.
The soul urge number is the same except you only add the vowels in your full name, and the personality number is the addition of only your consonants, so everything but the vowels. Finally, your birth day is exactly that. Your birthday.
In the next following videos, we’ll be going over the meaning of these numbers in each category.
